Brigadier Saif Al Zarri Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief, Sharjah Police, said the 2nd National Sports Day initiative, which would kick start on Feb 16, had cemented the community participation spirit and opened the door for submitting unique models in expressing love to the nation.
“We are bracing for an important event in sour sports agenda introduced in implementation of the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to devote 24 hours for practicing all sports activities, be it on land, sea or air. It replicates the logo of HH (The UAE Unites Us). Everyone is making every effort to ensure the best possible promotion of the event to deliver it to the largest possible number of targeted age groups including seniors, juniors, special needs, and employees,” said Al Shamsi.
“The initiatives of HH Sheikh Mohammed are diverse and multiple, but all aimed at the good causes of serving humans. It is part of the attention of the UAE leadership to enhance the intellectual and mindset of individuals for the benefit of the entire community. It contributes to ranking the UAE among the leading countries recognized for their humanitarian programs and noble social objectives,” he added.
“Sharjah Police will hold a number of events in support of the National Sports Day. We have put in place a program spanning all directorates of the Police HQ in coordination with Sharjah Sports Council to launch new packages of sport, physical and recreational events,” he continued.
He commended the efforts of the team of the National Sports Day, headed by Major General Dr. Ahmed Nasir Al Raysee, in communicating with all authorities and sectors. Such efforts conform to the vision of HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, President of the NOC cum Chairman of the National Sports Day. It complements the impact of the inaugural edition and depicts a superb picture for the social interaction and love of the nation; which reflects positively on international sports circles and the standing of the UAE in bringing success to mega sports events.
